Key Information

Reading
Please bring your reading books and reading record into school everyday. We will support children when changing their books, please clearly write in reading records if a book is completed at home so we don't change books unnecessarily.

  PE
Tuesday and Thursday- Please ensure your child wears their PE kit to school on these days. All PE lessons will take place outside and unless the weather is really bad, they will continue to happen outside. It is essential that your child brings a fleece and jacket if the weather is cold and wet so that lessons can continue.

Forest School
Thursday- Please ensure your child comes to school wearing suitable clothes for the weather- including wellies and waterproof clothing.

Homework: Will be given out each week. Please return it by the following Monday.

Our Learning

Ice: Pole to Pole

Enquiry: Why are the poles so important to the Earth?

Our current spring topic is: ‘Ice: Pole to Pole’. In geography, we will be locating the world’s seven continents and oceans, describing where the hot and colder areas of the world are. We will be researching the life and triumphs of Matthew Hanson who led an expedition across the Arctic to the North Pole. This topic will lead many of our learning opportunities across the curriculum, feeding into our English, art, music and DT lessons. Please see attached topic web with ideas about our learning opportunities and key vocabulary from this topic.
