 Wivelsfield Primary School  and Nursery has a vacancy for a SEN teaching Assistant for approximately 23.5 hours/week to start as soon as possible.  Ideally you will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays, 08.40am - 3.15pm, but we can be flexible.

Situated in the heart of Wivelsfield Green, near both Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, the school is single form entry. Nursery Assistant (Part Time) 33 hours per week

Due to a promotion within our team, Wrens Nursery at Wivelsfield School are looking for a Nursery Assistant to support our supervisor to deliver outstanding care and provide a safe, nurturing and happy environment for our children.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or a relevant  equivalent qualification. The hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm. There could be some flexibility with these and applications for a job share would be welcome.

The successful candidate will:

-be an enthusiastic and excellent Early Years practitioner, who is able to engage children through preparing and participating in a range of play based activities that promote each child’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs. 

- work with the supervisor to create an exciting and purposeful learning environment

-act as a key worker, forming a close, caring relationship with their allocated children and communicating with their parents and carers

-be flexible and able to work closely with other EYFS/KS1 team members and the wider school community

-be keen to engage in continuing professional development

Clerk of Governors (part time)
Salary £27,829 - £28,486 pro rata

Wivelsfield Primary Schools Governing Body are looking to appoint a clerk who is reliable, confident, and good with people with an interest in school governance.

You will need skills in good administrative practice and experience of minute taking. You will also need to be confident in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and email and have access to a computer and the internet. This is a Hybrid role which will require you to work from home, and attend meetings in the school and other sites as required.

The Role:

Responsibilities will include working effectively with the Chair of Governors, Headteacher and other governors to secure the continuity of governing body business and to advise on procedural and legislative matters to ensure the governing body works to the legal framework. An understanding of confidentiality is also essential for this role.

Tasks include the preparation and circulation of papers, attendance at meetings and minute taking; maintaining a business calendar including policy reviews. 

The role will be recruited to under the Clerking Service Protocol; applicants must either hold a relevant award (BTEC level 3 in Clerk to the Governing Body or equivalent) or be prepared to work towards the East Sussex Clerk to Governors Accreditation Scheme, for which funding and training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be flexible, well-organised, have a sense of humour and a can-do attitude and is able to manage workload and prioritise effectively.
